This series needs to be read in order. The first is Halfway to the Grave. (Night Huntress Series).
Sadly, this is the last book in the Night Huntress Series. This was a well done ending to the series. It soon grabs you and takes you on a roller coaster ride, with a few shocking turns and twists, along the way. I will miss Cat and Bones but at least they finally get their well deserved happily ever after. By the end of the book, nothing is left unanswered, all the secrets from Cat's past with Don are revealed, and the way things end up feels completely natural, and as one could see it ending. A series worth reading, and well done.

Jersey Boys
I was familiar with the Broadway show but have never seen it. Though I was not born and growing up when Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons were performing, I grew up listening to their songs as well as others, from the fifties, sixties, and seventies. So I was interested in seeing this.
I really liked this film. Though I don't know if or what was changed when it was put in film format, but the side comments directed to the audience and the way they were done, didn't take away from the film. Made it more personable. It had its moments of humor too. Well done and worth seeing, even if you know little or nothing about the Four Seasons and Frankie Valli.

Written in Red by Anne Bishop
I have enjoyed and read almost all of her previous works, still need to read the last Pillars of the World trilogy book. So I got interested in trying her Other series, and sad to say this is book number eight, I have tried and will never finish.
The idea for the world where humans are not on the top of the food-chain and have to share the world with shapeshifters, who take on one animal form and a human one, was interesting. The idea of a blood scribe, in this world was intriguing. The start of the book began to draw me but the further I went, I kept struggling to want to read the book some more.
I tried again and again to become fully immersed with this new world and six chapters later, 132 pages to be exact, I decided to move on.
I think my main problem is connecting with Meg who is center character in this tale. The prologue was good but Meg needed to start in the compound and let the reader see what kind of life she had, really see it, not just in memories, but actually. The reader needed to follow Meg's escape into freedom, then have the book continue to where it started.
Plus, this tale seemed to drag, having it's moments, but slow from the other books I have read from hers. Keep in mind, I don't need shock and awe to find a story interesting, it just has to pull me into the world, have characters I can relate to on some level and care about, this book falls sway short of what I expected. I was so disappointed.
I can't recommend this story but any of her others are good reads.

X-Men Days of Future Past
I have watched all the current x-men films. This installment was an interesting idea, and wasn't bad though it is not one of my favorites. I wouldn't buy it on DVD, though I would probably watch it again if it was on television or someone else was watching it.
I liked the idea of having the past meet the future, story line. Interesting twists and turns, with characters. It has its moments of humor. The story was good but I did have one issue with the ending : since the past was changed the future was too, and not to spoil it, there had to be some really big changes, and how accurate would that be in line with the previous films? Besides, that, it was worth seeing on the big screen, given certain things wouldn't quite have the same feel on the TV size screen.
Though except for spin off origin films, it looks like, unless you have more stories with young Xavier, and the x-men, that for the time being, that the x-men series has ended, for now, until maybe a reboot of some sort.

Autumn Whispers by Yasmine Galenorn
This is part of the Sisters of the Moon series and needs to be read in order. Each book is narrated and focused on one of the three sisters. The first book is Witchling.
This book is focused on Delilah. This is also one of those books where you have some major game changes, and leaves some of the story unresolved.
Another good installment in the series. Major changes that will affect everyone and have effected everyone one in one form or another. In this tale, its another roller coaster ride, from personal changes good and bad, raging war, and two new problems, one minor in retrospect to what the sisters deal with and one that could cause a lot of problem on Earth side.
As usual a good read balanced out with character growth and action. A bit surprised on how it ended though, felt a bit off to me, but the tale is definitely worth the time to read, and at times hard to put down.

Maleficent
I'll admit this peeked my interest when I saw the previews. Even though it was more if I see it fine, if not fine kind of film.
I have seen some of the re-envisioned fairy tales, from Ever After, one of my favorites, to Red Hiding Hood, not one of my favorites and a few in between. This film already had a nice twist to the tale by showing it from the villains side.
Angelina Jolie was a great pick for this character. She is Maleficent. a perfect fit.
I liked the balance in the traditional cartoon version and how they twisted some of those things into this version in a way that still paid homage to the classic original Disney Classic, and fit into the tale well. The 3-D is a nice extra to the film. It was good film, and one I would suggest watching if there wasn't anything you were waiting to see in the theater.
